Harvey Brandmiller - Obituary

arvey Kelly Brandmiller Jr., 75, a 48-year resident of Annapolis, died of lung disease Sept. 2 at the Annapolis Health and Rehabilitation Center. Mr. Brandmiller was born May 5, 1933, to the late Harvey and Jane Brandmiller. He graduated from Niles McKinley High School in 1951 and earned a bachelor's and master's degree from Youngstown State University in Ohio. He served in the Army Signal Corps in Germany, participating in NATO maneuvers, and he also worked in the Western Area Command Special Services division where he directed, sang and produced shows. After joining the Youngstown Playhouse, he performed in their first musical and was also staff vocalist at WFMJ Radio-TV Station in Youngstown. He studied at the SRT Academy of Broadcasting Arts, and was later employed at WPIX-TV in New York City and WXEX-TV in Petersburg, Va. He later became partner and office manager at Dr. Roland E. Riley's chiropractic clinic in Annapolis. Mr. Brandmiller was a member of the Colonial Players and served on its board of directors, helped with sound production and acted in shows. He also enjoyed volunteer work and travelling. Survivors include his longtime partner, Roland E. Riley of Annapolis, MD and one sister, Carol Lee Johanson of Petersburg, Fla. Funeral services and interment will be private. Arrangements are by Kalas Funeral Home, Edgewater, MD. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Colonial Players Inc., 108 East St., Annapolis, MD 21401.
