H

azel C. MacKay Trask, 97 of Annapolis, MD and formerly of Lexington, MA died on Saturday, September 5, 2015. Born on September 20, 1917 in Boston, MA, Hazel was a graduate of Boston University. During WWII she joined the American Women’s Volunteer Service and drove Army staff cars in and around the Boston area. She was a lifelong and dedicated member of the Newton Presbyterian Church in Newton, MA. In 2006 she moved to the Ginger Cove retirement community in Annapolis. She played the piano for church services and programs at Ginger Cove, no one will ever forget the in-house production of “Sister Act” and her improvisation with saxophonist, Del Puschert. Hazel was known for her warm hospitality and generous spirit, she was a faithful friend and a good neighbor. She enjoyed traveling and did a crossword puzzle every day, but most of all Hazel loved spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 51 years, Robert P. Trask, Jr. in 1992, her daughter, Linda Siddon and her grandson, Nathaniel Trask. Hazel is survived by her children, Robert (Margaret) Trask, III of Wheaton, IL and Diane (Jeffrey) Judd of Nebo, NC, her son-in-law, Robert Siddon of Annapolis, MD, 9 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren a number of nieces and nephews and an “adopted daughter,” Joanna (Ken) Sgorbati. Her funeral service will be held at the Newton Presbyterian Church, 75 Vernon St., Newton, MA on Saturday, September 19 at 10 am. Interment will follow at Westview Cemetery in Lexington.
