eini Zimmet, 85, died peacefully at his home on Friday, November 24, 2017. He was born in Germany, married the love of his life, Margit in 1956, and together they emigrated to the U.S.A. to pursue the American dream. Heini took great pride in his work and had a very successful career in ornamental plastering. He was forever young at heart, a great dancer, immensely enjoyed fishing, and touched everyone with his fascinating, funny stories. Left to cherish Heini’s memories are his wife Margit, son Robert and wife Natalie, daughter Andrea and husband Ward, granddaughter Olivia, son James, his niece and “adopted daughter” Angie, his sister Elfriede and her children Michael, Roswitha, and Martin. The family will host friends to share memories on Saturday, December 2 from 2-4 pm, at Kalas Funeral Home, Oxon Hill, MD. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
