Helen Darden - Obituary

elen L. Darden, age 87, a 21 year resident of Heritage Harbour in Annapolis and formerly of District Heights, MD died on Wednesday, April 7 at Anne Arundel Medical Center. Born on April 9, 1922 in Washington, DC, Helen was a graduate of Eastern High School and worked as a secretary in the Prince George's Co. school system for many years. Helen enjoyed sewing and flower gardening and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Helen was predeceased by her husband, Cecil Darden, whom she married on July 22, 1939 and a daughter, Patricia L. Horgan. She is survived by 2 daughters, Mary E. Richardson of Annapolis, MD and Joanne Catts of Wilmington, NC; 3 sons in law, John Richardson of Annapolis, MD, Jerry Catts of Wilmington, NC and Edward Horgan and his wife Eileen of Conover, NC; 2 sisters, Shirley Galusky and Barbara Johnston both of Bowie, MD. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Friends are invited to Helen's Life Celebration at the GEORGE P. KALAS FUNERAL HOME, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD on Sunday from 2 to 5pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday, April 12 at 10:00am at Holy Family Catholic Church, Davidsonville, MD. Interment Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton, MD.
