Helen Patricia (Pat) O’Brien Mohun, 81, of Annapolis, died January 18 at Anne Arundel Medical Center.
Born on March 9, 1931 in Washington, DC to the late John T. and Helen M. O’Brien, Pat graduated from Eastern High School in 1949.
She worked as a secretary at the former Veterans Administration in Washington, DC for more than 20 years before retiring in 1984. Throughout her life, Pat was the social director for her family, friends, fellow alumni and neighbors, coordinating get-togethers and aid and assistance when someone was in need. She was recognized for her wit and sense of humor. Her greatest joy was the time she spent with her family.
Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Francis X. "Buddy" Mohun.
She is survived by her sister, Jean John of Annapolis, and her children, Tom, Sue and Mark; brother, Jack O’Brien of Florida, and his children, Shauna and John; and her son, Michael Mohun and his children, Stephanie and Lisa. Also survived by five great-grandchildren.
Friends are invited to Pat’s Life Celebration from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, January 20, at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, January 21, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 109 Duke of Gloucester St., Annapolis. Interment 11 a.m. on Friday, February 15, at Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Cheltenham.
