Helen Marie (Fugitt) Moore Shimansky Bonfield - Obituary

elen Marie (Fugitt) Moore, Shimansky, Bonfield, 92, a life long resident of the Washington DC Metro Area passed away April 10, 2020. Born September 16, 1927 in Washington, DC. Her love of learning and Scouting led her to pursue college at the age of 35. She graduated from the University of MD with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education and continued to earn her Master Degree in Education. She taught 4th and 5th grade at Green Valley Elementary and also Glenarden Woods Elementary. She retired from teaching in 1991 and pursued her love of travel. She became a world traveler, becoming a member of the Seven Continents Club. All three grandchildren accompanied her at various times on her many trips abroad. She was an avid reader, enjoyed doing needlepoint, and playing the organ.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents Kenneth L. Fugitt and Julia A. (Woodruff) Fugitt. Her former husbands Richard T. Moore (father of her children), Anthony R. Shimansky, and Walter Bonfield. She is survived by her sibling Leroy J. Fugitt, of Provo, Utah, her children Julia B. (Moore) Krueger husband Mark of Norton, OH, Richard T. Moore Jr. wife Michelle of Brandywine, MD, and grandchildren Matthew John Krueger of Lodi,OH,
Sara Marie Krueger of Austin, TX and Shannon Marie Moore of Naples, FL.
