Helen Owens - Obituary

ge 85, of Temple Hills, Maryland, died September 9, 2009 from injuries received in an automobile accident. She was the daughter of the late Roy and Barbara Buchanan of Jolo, West Virginia. She was predeceased by three infant sons and her first husband, George W. Robinson. Devoted mother and companion in life, she is survived by her loving husband, Joseph Wilford Owens of Temple Hills, Maryland; two sons, Ronald Robinson, and wife Jerry of Bland, Virginia; and Stephen Robinson, and wife Rosalie of Phoenix, Arizona; three daughters, Sandra Skinner of Emporia, Virginia, Jan Viar of Temple Hills, Maryland, and Rita Austin, and husband Kit of Verona, Virginia; three stepsons, Bruce Owens of Lawrence, Kansas; Gary Owens, and wife Beverly of Orlando, Florida and Mark Owens of Temple Hills, Maryland; a brother, Roy Lee Buchanan of Chester, Virginia; two sisters, Mildred Smith of Logan, West Virginia and Delores Hosier and husband Roy of Cumberland, Maryland; eight grandchildren, eight step grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. Mrs. Owens was retired from Safeway, living her life devoted to her family, but always willing to lend a helping hand to friends. She, lovingly, will be missed by all. Interment will be private and a Celebration of Life memorial will be held at the Owens home on October 3rd between the hours of 1:00 and 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to your favorite charity.
