Helen Vezeris - Obituary

elen Vezeris, 94, of Edgewater, MD and formerly of Heritage Harbour in Annapolis, MD and Dix Hills, NY, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 19th at her residence surrounded by her family. Helen was a member of Ss. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church in Annapolis and a member of the Agia Anna Philoptochos. She lovingly crocheted and donated many blankets to the Anne Arundel Medical Center Cancer Unit and baby hats to the Maternity Ward. She literally blanketed everybody with her love and will be sorely missed by her family and friends. Helen was the beloved wife of the late Jack Vezeris; loving mother of John (Jane) Vezeris, Peter Vezeris (President of Ss. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church) and Olga (John) Halpin; cherished Yiayia of Brian(Catherine), Nicholas, Alex and Chris; special "Big" Yiayia of Jacqueline, Andrew and Emily. Helen was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Crista, and great-grandson, Matthew. Friends are invited to celebrate Helen's life on Friday, March 23 from 3 to 8 PM at the Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 24 at 11 AM at Ss. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 2747 Riva Rd., Annapolis, MD 21401. Interment will be at a later date at St. Anne's Cemetery in Annapolis. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations, in her memory, be made to Ss.
