elen Louise “Maggie” Wilkinson died at Anne Arundel Medical Center on Thursday, February 16. A longtime resident of Annapolis and previously Coast Guard related cities and locations the length and breadth of the United States, she was born at home in Baltimore, MD on January 26, 1941 to the late James R. and Doris E. (nee Allenbaugh) Orem. Both a talented homemaker and a licensed day care provider for newborn and infant children, Maggie regularly volunteered at nursing homes. She famously loved and lavished care on every domestic and wild animal she came into contact with, particularly her own dogs. Throughout her life Maggie enjoyed travelling and RV’ings new experiences. A “people person”, she was lucky in her love and at casinos. Everyone she either met or knew was “sweetheart” to her. Maggie is survived by her husband of 41 years, Coast Guard Master Chief (Ret.) Jon Wilkinson. Friends are invited to celebrate Maggie’s life at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD on Tuesday, February 28 from 11:00 am until her funeral service begins at 12 noon.
