H

enry Clay Richardson of Fort Washington, MD was born July 27, 1949 in Bowman, South Carolina. He was the youngest child of late John and Eartha Jamison Richardson. He departed this earthy living on December 17, 2018 suddenly while at home. Henry was educated in the public schools of Orangeburg County District 4, graduating and receiving his high school diploma from Bethune Memorial High School in 1967. After graduation, he attended Lincoln Tech, in Jacksonville FL. Receiving his Associates Degree in Computer Science. Upon graduation, he immediately started working at a plant Smith Corona for about a year before and ending his career at EDS, Electronic Data System now formerly known as (Hewlett-Packard) and retiring in September 2000. While attending high school, he met his high school sweetheart Betty Rae Funchess. They married August 1, 1971, from this union they had four children; Larone, Terrell, Eric, and Shelia. He was the provider and protector of our family. After retirement, Henry’s took various interests and hobbies. The stock market, money management and travel were his favorites. Through his true passion for trading a typical morning ritual for him would be to watch the news and stock market channel and jogging for 30 minutes before the stock market bell rang all while helping the grandkids get ready for school. He also had a love of basketball and football largely remembered for being a die-hard fan of the Washington Redskins; there wasn’t anything you could not tell him that he didn’t already knew about his beloved Redskins. Henry was preceded in death by his older brother Nathaniel Jamison and parents John and Eartha Jamison Richardson. Henry Clay Richardson leaves to cherish devoted and loving wife Betty R Richardson; four children, Larone (La Quaya) Richardson, Terrell (Brenda) Richardson, Eric Richardson, and Shelia Richardson-Davis (Tyrone); 16 grandchildren, Donnell, Ashley, Alexis, Ka’Juan, JaKiah, Ka’Deija, Rondell, Shanyia, Isaiah, Shae’La, Morgan, Jahniyah, Alyssia, Tru, Titan, and Titus; a loving sister Johnnie Mae (Major) Boyce of Amityville, New York and host of relatives and friends, all of whom will miss him dearly. Relatives and friends are invited to Henry's Life Celebration on Saturday, January 5, 2019 from 10 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. at KALAS FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 6160 Oxon Hill Rd., Oxon Hill, MD. Interment Resurrection Cemetery.
