Howerton D. Alvey - Obituary

owerton “Pap” Alvey, 93, passed away on Saturday, September 8, 2018. Pap, who was born to the late Howerton and Lelia Alvey, has been a resident of the Annapolis area for his entire life. He served in the U.S. Army at the end of WWII, and worked at the U.S. Naval Academy for 33 years. Over the years Pap has been a member of Mayo Methodist Church, Trinity United Methodist Church and a life member of the Elks Lodge 622. He enjoyed golf, traveling and spending time with family and friends. Mr. Alvey is survived by his wife of 35-years, Elfriede Boyle Alvey; daughter, Christine Alvey of Annapolis; step-children, John (Julie) of Severna Park, P.J. (Meredith) of Baltimore and Carol (Scott) of Memphis, TN; six step-grandchildren, Steven, Jamison, Peter, Caroline, Kendall, and Blake. A private service was held.
