ugh Jack Moore "Crabby Jack", 73 a 15 year resident of Huntingtown and previously of Riva, died March 23 at Anne Arundel Medical Center after an 18 month battle with multiple myeloma. He was born August 6, 1939 in Brentwood to the late Thomas C. and Catherine Moore.
Jack worked as an inspector for the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission until his retirement in 1981, He was a commercial crabber for the next 28 years. He also enjoyed crabbing for pleasure along with fishing, hunting, cooking and playing poker.
He was a former pitcher for the Washington Senators minor league team and renowned poker player.
Jack was preceded in death by three brothers, Ralph, Clyde and Billy and two sisters, Lillian and Colleen.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Anne L. Moore; son, Thomas C. Moore of Chesapeake Beach; daughter, Mary Beth Henderson of Millersville; sister, Margaret Righter of Boyds; five grandchildren, Stephanie, Emily and Megan Moore, Kyle and Sean Henderson; and three great-grandchildren, Tailor, Zachary and Aubrie.
Friends are invited to Jack's Life Celebration from 3:30 p.m. until his funeral service begins at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 30 at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater. Interment private.
