Ioannis Vasilios Goudounis - Obituary

oannis "John" Goudounis, 90, of Annapolis returned peacefully to the Lord on Friday, March 3, 2016. Born in Megalo Sirini, Grevena, Greece, John married Martha Lilos Goudounis in November of 1946, and together they immigrated to the United States on February 2, 1973. John was passionate about his family and was a loving husband and father. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Martha Lilos Goudounis. He is survived by his beloved sons, Theodore (Angela) Goudounis and Vasilis (Joan) Goudounis, both of Annapolis; his beloved grandchildren, Joanne Goudounis Sfakiyianoudis, Effie Goudounis Rentch, Krystina Goudounis Petropoulos and John Goudounis, all of Annapolis; his sister, Eleni Chiras; his brother, Evangelos Goudounis and his great-grandchildren, Theodore, Leonidas, Luke, and Jack. John was a member of Ss. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church in Annapolis, MD. Our beloved John will be missed by all. May his memory be eternal. Friends are invited to celebrate John's life on Sunday, March 5 from 5 to 7 pm at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD. His funeral service will be held on Monday, March 6 at 11am at Ss. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 2747 Riva Road, Annapolis, MD. Interment St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Cemetery.
