Irene Bay - Obituary

r. Irene L. Bay was a German medical doctor surviving the depression and World War II before immigrating to the United States to start a new life and family. Irene was a 3 time cancer survivor largely due to the heroic work by doctors at the Johns Hopkins Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center with support from the American Cancer Society. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edmund Bay. She is survived by her children, Monika S. and Michael Bay. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, January 21 at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD. There will be a reception following the Memorial Service at the Bay's home, 3321 Pocahontas Drive, Edgewater, MD 21037 starting at 3:00pm. In lieu of flowers, gifts in memory of Dr. Irene Bay may be directed to support breast and colon cancer at the Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center.
