Goldie Irene Dove, 81, a resident of Edgewater, MD, died at her home surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, August 1 of natural causes. Born on March 28, 1940 in Lothian, MD to the late James P. and Elizabeth I. Ireland, Irene graduated in 1958 from Southern High School. She worked as a waitress at the Dutch Pantry and a bookkeeper with Annapolis Tree Experts. Irene was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church and enjoyed gardening and doing word search puzzles. The walls in her home were covered with pictures of family and friends because she loved to look at them. Irene was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, John Henry Dove; her stepsons, Dennis L. Dove and Kevin M. Dove; her siblings, William S., Warren L., James R., James F. and Ruby L. Ireland, Evelyn D. Armiger and Hilda L. Dove.  She is survived by her children, Dennis Taylor and Betty J. Dove; stepchildren, Brandon J. Dove, Sr., Mark S. Dove, and Tracey N. Dove; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Friends are invited to celebrate Irene’s life at the Kalas Funeral Home and Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD on Monday, August 9 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. Funeral service will be held at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, 122 Bayard Rd., Lothian, MD on Tuesday, August 10 at 10 am. Interment Lakemont Memorial Gardens in Davidsonville, MD.
