BITUARY January 10, 1924, a tiny baby girl named Irma Rose Mary Jones, was born to the union of Edward Jones and Rosie Prudhomme, in Alexandria, La. Her three brothers ,the late Willie and Clarence Jones and her only surviving, Rev. Edward Jones, were delighted to have their sister to play with and follow them around. Irma accepted Christ at an early age, joining Newman M.E.Church, in Alexandria, Louisiana. Irma Rose Mary finished Peabody High School, Class of 41. During this era of strict segregation, Irma was employed as a ticket agent at Silver City Theater. While working there, many people commented about enjoying passing her booth, just to see how gorgeous she was. Throughout her endeavors as a young adult, she was introduced to, and romanced by her first husband, the late Howard Perry Williams (H.P.). As a result of this union, they were blessed with a daughter, Irma Elizabeth. She was recruited in 1942, along with friends, to work at the Pentagon, in Arlington, Va., while H.P. was stationed over seas, as a Warrant Officer, in World War II. This Marriage ended in divorce. While living in Detroit Michigan, Big Irma (as she was often called), worked as an LPN at several Hospitals. She later met and married the late George Daniels (Papa George), and resided in Detroit, Michigan. During their union, they REALLY enjoyed life, traveling around the world. One favorite place, to visit, was Alexandria, La. to see her brothers, nieces and nephews and friends. Irma was always down for a fish fry and Cajun Specialties and family gatherings. She was full of jokes, stories, and loved sweets. Her other favorite travel spots were anywhere her only daugther, Irma Elizabeth grandbabies and great grandbabies were, usually, Maryland. Irma transitioned to Maryland to live with her devoted daughter and son-in law in 2005, after the death of Papa George Daniels. She told “Remember Whens…†to the extent that her grands could complete her sentences. She was a fashionista, and very particular, wanting the absolute best of everything. She loved shopping and always wanted to stay away from the “Elderly Section†in the department stores. As recent as last year, Irma asked Keesha,“Who that's for, honey? That's not for me, that's for Old People.†She lived for and loved her family. Irma gave her heart, and soul to ensuring they were alright. She was full of life and halarious. An elephant had nothing on Irma when it came to remembering birthdays, phone numbers and detailed recollections. On May 26, 2009, after a long illness, she completed a full, challenging life while sleeping peacefully at home. Grief cannot take away the good times we shared. Sorrow will fade in time, but memories remain forever. The lessons she taught, the things she stood for, they are her gifts and our legacy. Irma Rose Mary Daniels is survived by her devoted Daughter Irma Williams Moss (Vincent Moss, Ft.Wash.Md), Grandchildren;Assistant D.A.
