. Ross Voorhees, 58, of Edgewater, died at George Washington University Hospital on July 2, 2013.
Born in Niskayuna, NY, Ross received his bachelor and master degrees from Indiana University. He was a Senior Environmental Scientist employed by Stantec Consulting Services Inc., (formerly Greenhorne & O'Mara). An avid race fan, he attended almost all the Indy 500 races since 1968. He was past and present President of South River Park Community Association. He enjoyed fishing, boating, waterskiing, cooking, history and antiques.
Ross is survived by his parents Donald and Marie Voorhees of Clermont, FL, sister Toni Voorhees of Wheaton, Ill, children, Dashiell R. Voorhees (Tatiana) of Morgantown, WV, Aurelia L. Voorhees of Edgewater and Oscar Voorhees of Culver, IN; and fiancé Lynne Kyle.
Friends are invited to Ross' Life Celebration at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater on Sunday, July 7 from 10am until time of funeral service begins at 12pm.
