Jack G. Frakes - Obituary

ack G. Frakes, 87, a resident of Annapolis, MD for forty-two years and previously of Cleveland, OH, died on Thursday, January 20 at Country Home Assisted Living in Harwood, MD. Born on January 16, 1935 in Covington, KY to the late Henry O. and Thelma Frakes, Jack served in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1958. He was stationed in El Paso, TX where he worked on a firing range for Nike Missiles. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from the University of Cincinnati in 1962 and began working for the Kiewit Companies until retiring in 1994. Jack was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, the Masons and the Bowie Elks Lodge. He loved the Washington Football Team, horses and going to the beach. Jack was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Shirley A. Frakes and his daughter, Cathy Hansen. He is survived by his daughters, Darlene Bellinger of Crownsville, MD and Jackie Schubert of Annapolis, MD; his grandchildren, Matthew Hansen, Ryan and Jack Schubert all of Annapolis, MD, Zachary Hansen of Chesapeake Beach, MD, Jimmy Bellinger of Burbank, CA and Justin Bellinger of Boston, MA and two great-grandchildren.
