James "Jimmy" Joseph McManus - Obituary

ames McManus “Jimmy”, 86, a resident of Lothian, MD, passed away on April 10, 2026, at Anne Arundel Medical Center. Jimmy was born on April 4, 1940, in Pennsylvania to the late James and Elizabeth McManus. Jimmy worked as a produce manager for Safeway, retiring after a 46-year career. His interests included working in the yard, bird watching, and watching Ocean City webcams. In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by his sister, Janie Chaney. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Carol McManus; his children, James McManus, Jr., Robert McManus and Anne Mason; his siblings, Jerry McManus, Mary Ann Hurley and Betsy Baker; his grandchildren, Michael and Lexi Mason, Robert and Delanie McManus, Jordan and Natalie McManus, and Joey McManus; his great-grandchildren, Jace and Kinley Holcomb, Ryker McManus, and Bella Mason, who he had a special bond with. Friends and family are invited to celebrate Jimmy's life on Friday, April 17, from 2 to 4 pm at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD, followed immediately by his funeral service at 4 pm.
