ames "Jim" H. Amburgey, a 6-year resident of Edgewater died at Anne Arundel Medical Center on December 6, 2012 after a brief illness.
Born November 9, 1958 in Nora, VA, he graduated from Ervington High School. Jim was currently employed in the warehouse for La-Z-Boy and previously worked as a coal miner. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Shady Side and enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family.
Jim is survived by his lifelong companion, Joyce A. Amburgey; a son, James H. Amburgey, Jr. of Edgewater; a daughter, Jessica Steele and her husband, David of Easton; two siblings, Joey Amburgey and Shannon Jamee Amburgey, both of Abingdon, VA; his father, Birten Harold Amburgey of Abingdon, VA; his in-laws, Robert and Theresa Campbell of Churchton; and two grandchildren, Liam and Abigail Steele of Easton.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 8 at 2pm at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater. Interment private. Memorial donations may be made in Jim's name to Hospice of the Chesapeake, 445 Defense Highway, Annapolis, MD 21401.
