James T. Bailey - Obituary

ames “JT” Thomas Bailey, USAF, Ret., 87, a 7 ½ year resident of Annapolis and previously of Palmetto, FL, passed away on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family. JT was born on October 2, 1933 in Patterson, NJ to the late Garnet and Ruth Bailey. He received a BS degree in Meteorology from Florida State University. JT served his country proudly in the US Air Force and retired as a Lt. Colonel, after a 22 year career in 1974. He later worked for the US Department of Commerce as a US Program Manager for (SARSAT) International Search & Rescue. He was a member of the Military Officers Association of America and enjoyed golfing and fishing. In addition to his parents, JT was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Trudie P. Bailey in 2013 and his sister, Jane Townsend. He is survived by his three children; James T. Bailey, Jr. and Dana Bailey, both of Annapolis, MD and Pamela Ambrose of Eden, MD. JT is also survived by his grandchildren; Ryan and Victoria Ambrose, Connor Milstead and Caitlin Bailey. All services will be private at this time. JT and Trudie will be interred together in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
