James Brown - Obituary

ames Roy Brown, “Jim”, age 65, a 33-year resident of Davidsonville, MD and formerly of Landover, MD died on June 28, 2008 at his home after a 6-month battle with cancer. Jim was born on June 11, 1943 in Washington, D.C. He graduated from Northwestern H.S. He was a steamfitter and was a member of Steamfitters Local 602. He served in the US Army as a Specialist 4th Class during the Viet Nam War. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Davidsonville, MD. He enjoyed sports, especially bowling, fishing and NASCAR. He liked gardening and keeping up with current events. His family was most important to him, he was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He was the beloved husband of Jeanne Marie Brown; father of Christopher Charles and James Gregory (Sarah) Brown and Lisa Marie (David) Elliott; son of the late Charles and Lucille Brown; brother of the late Sonny Brown; grandfather of Madison, Sierra and Brooklyn. A Memorial Mass will be offered on Wednesday, July 2 at 11:00 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church, 826 Central Ave., Davidsonville, MD. Inurment Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Chesapeake, 445 Defense Hwy., Annapolis, MD 21401.
