James D. Covington - Obituary

ames "Jimmy" Douglas Covington, a lifelong resident of Annapolis, MD, died on August 10, 2018, at Anne Arundel Medical Center. Born December 19, 1947, to the late Melvin and Hilda Covington, he was a 1967 graduate of Annapolis Senior High School. Jimmy is a retired Anne Arundel County Firefighter of 35 years. Jimmy honorably served his country in the United States Army. He was a member of the Annapolis Elks and enjoyed his 1967 Chevelle, car shows, crabbing, and spending time with his family and friends. Jimmy is survived by his wife, Linda Stokes Covington; two daughters, Crystal Covington Alexander (Douglas Alexander) of Annapolis, MD and Jaime Covington Weaver (Mike Weaver) of Phoenix, AZ; one granddaughter, Whitney Weaver; and four siblings, Alma Ruth Allender, Melvin, Johnny, and Robert Covington. Friends are invited to celebrate Jimmy's life on Wednesday, August 15, from 2 to 4, and 6 to 8 pm at George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD, where a funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 16 at 11 am. Interment Hillcrest Memorial Cemetery, Annapolis.
