James DiCarlo - Obituary

ames E. DiCarlo, 57, a 24-year resident of Edgewater, MD and previously Mt. Rainier, MD died at Anne Arundel Medical Center on February 19, 2011 of natural causes. Born December 7, 1953 in Washington, DC to the late Joseph and Helen DiCarlo, he graduated from Bladensburg high school in 1971. James was employed as an electrician with Amtrak for over 30 years and was a member of the American Legion in North Beach, MD. He loved playing pool, motorcycle riding, water and snow skiing, boating, trains, loved classic rock. James will be remembered as a real family man. He is survived by his beloved wife, Wanda DiCarlo; his children, Tina DiCarlo of Edgewater, MD, Sharon (Donald) Rogers of Edgewater, MD, Roy (Ebony) Shurger, IV of Glen Burnie, MD and Rene Shurger of Baltimore, MD. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Ashley Ross of Edgewater, MD. Donnie Rogers, III of Edgewater, MD, James “J.C.” Rogers of Edgewater, MD and Devon and Elijah Shurger, both of Glen Burnie, MD. Friends are invited to James’ Life Celebration at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm, where services will be held on Thursday, February 24 at 10am. Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
