ames Alvin Hash, “Jim”, 99, a resident of Edgewater, MD, died on Thursday, February 4 at Crofton Convalescent Center in Crofton, MD. He was born on October 21,1916 in Spotsylvania County, VA, to the late John Samuel and Minnie Adaway Hash. Following his graduation from high school, he became a DC Firefighter from 1945 until his retirement in 1977. Jim was a life member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, and retired DC Firefighters Association.
Jim was preceded in death by his wife of 23 years, Maybelle Jones-Hash; two sons, Thomas James Hash of Arlington, VA and John “Sonny” Willett of Edgewater, MD; and eleven siblings. He is survived by a brother, Joseph Hash of Grottoes, VA; and a sister, Lucie Linville of Everett, WA.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, February 8 2016 at 3pm at Lakemont Memorial Gardens, 900 W. Central Avenue, Davidsonville, MD. An online guestbook is available by using the link on this site.
