James Hutchinson - Obituary

J

ames “Jim” W. Hutchinson, 67, a 53- year resident of Maryland and recently splitting his time between Davidsonville and Lancaster, SC, died suddenly from a heart attack on May 5 at his Davidsonville home. Born on March 24, 1945 in Belvidere, IL, he was a gifted gymnast and tumbler and was a proud member of the boy scouts, achieving the rank of Eagle Scout. After graduating from high school, Jim served four years in the U.S. Air Force, then pursued a degree in accounting from the University of Maryland. He was a career auditor for the Department of Defense. Jim loved animals and twice raised baby birds in his bathtub. He was highly regarded as a dog trainer. He also loved vintage Corvettes, playing hearts and pinochle, fishing with his high school friends, and joking with his family. Jim’s greatest joy was the time he spent with his family, especially his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Linda Gray Hutchinson; one son, Kirk J. (Amy) Hutchinson of North Port, FL; two daughters, Cara L. (Jeffrey) Reidel of Crofton and Kelley C. Hutchinson of Clemson, SC; one sister, Linda H.
