James Keough - Obituary

ames Francis “Jimmy” Keough, age 49, an inquisitive, fun-loving, free spirit, died of cancer on October 5, 2013 at home surrounded by his devoted and loving wife, Kathleen “Katie” Barbour Keough, and young daughter, Erin. Jimmy, formerly of District Heights, MD, was the son of the late John and Adelaide Higgins Keough. In addition to his wife and daughter, he is survived by his siblings, John (Kelly) Keough, Anne (the late Kevin) Keehn, Maryellen (Chas) Griffiths and Peggy (David) Bartay; a brother in law, Chris (Sarah Pulcher) Barbour; his father and mother in law, Keith and Mary Etta Barbour, nine nieces and nephews and a big Irish family. Because Jimmy never forgot a friend - old or new, near or far - he will be missed by many, especially his lifelong Mt. Calvary buddies. Family and friends are invited to Jimmy’s Life Celebration from 5 to 8 pm on Friday, October 11 at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 am on Saturday, October 12, at Our Lady of the Fields Catholic Church, Millersville, MD. Interment will be private. A reception will immediately follow at the church hall. Please dress cheerfully! In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Erin Keough Education Fund.
