ames Christopher "Jim" Lenox, 54, a 10-year resident of Crofton and life-long Maryland resident, died of lung cancer Jan. 11 in his home after a long illness.
He was born Jan. 2, 1954, in Washington, D.C., and graduated from Northwestern High School.
He worked as a gas line repairman with Washington Gas Light Co. Mr. Lenox was a longtime member of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Bowie.
A coin and knife collector, he gave either a knife or a coin to nearly everyone he knew.
Survivors include his wife of almost 37 years, Sharon Lenox; two sons, Scott Lenox of Berlin and James Lenox of Pasadena; three daughters, Jennifer Adkins of Crofton, Joanne Groseclose of Edgewater and Suzanne Estrada of Odenton; his step-mother, Sally Wilkinson of Huntingtown and her daughter Sherri Walk; four brothers, Kenneth and Christopher Wilkinson of Texas, Michael Wilkinson of Largo and Bruce Wilkinson of Virginia; two sisters, Christine Holzier of Texas and Kathleen Ewing of Colorado; and 14 grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to the celebration of his life from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road in Edgewater.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Riva Trace Baptist Church, 475 W. Central Ave. in Davidsonville. Interment will be in Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church Cemetery in West River.
