ames Robert Lindemann, 57, went home to be with Jesus in our Heavenly Home on Thursday, June 6, 2024. Known as "Captain Jim" by family and friends, he was born on February 26, 1967, at Community Hospital in Covina, CA; Jim was the first of two children to Linda and Albert Lindemann. During his early years, the family lived in Walnut, CA, and when Jim was four years old, he relocated to Orange County. He graduated from Saddleback High School in June 1984 and attended Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa, CA. In October 1994, Jim enlisted in the Navy, where he served our country for 14 years, with many fond memories. Jim was a Navigator and obtained the rank of Chief Petty Officer. He was stationed in San Diego, CA, Gaeta, Italy, and Annapolis, MD. During his naval career, he was deployed to 90 countries, plotting navigational routes to those destinations. Following his military service, Jim worked as a subcontractor in the engineering department for Alion for the engineering department as an advisor for the development of the Zumwalt Destroyer Ship. Jim loved to travel across the United States and around the world. While growing up, Jim loved to surf with friends. He also enjoyed family trips, water skiing, and camping. Jim also loved his dog and cats. Jim is survived by his wife of 28 years, Maria Wellborne; his mother, Linda Lindemann; his nephews, Nick and Matthew (Lindemann) Lopez; his uncle, George Lindemann, and Bob Griffith and his wife, Betty; his cousins Ronald and Kimberly Lindemann and their daughter, Emily, Mark and Kristen Lindemann and their children, Troy, Raurie and Joe Misenti, Chet and Lori Lindemann and their children, Amber, Riley and Otto, Brad and Erica and their daughter, Chloe, Brandi and Bryan and their children, Wyatt, Cole and Lillian. He is also survived by Maria's children, Mark John and his children, Quinn, Adele, Elsie Jean, Gina and Erik and their children, Jenna, Aleksander, Sophia, Faith-Elise and Isaiah, Joseph and Julie Cummings and their children, Laura Anne and Brandon. Jim was preceded in death by his father, Albert Lindemann, his sister, Christine Lindemann Lopez, and Nikolas Widholm. Jim will live in our hearts forever and be deeply missed. 2 Corinthians 5:8 prefer to be absent from the body and be home with The Lord.
