ames Bruce Lynn, Sr, 79, of Oxon Hill, MD passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2011, surrounded by his loving family. Born February 2, 1932 and a native Washingtonian, Mr. Lynn attended St. Francis Xavier Elementary and St. John's College High School. Shortly after graduation, he enlisted with the Marines and served during the Korean Conflict. He attended Georgetown's School of Foreign Service and Georgetown Law School where he graduated in 1961. Mr. Lynn was admitted to the Bar in 1962 and enjoyed a successful law career in the DC Superior Court, later joining the Riggs Bank Trust Department as Vice President, Corporate Trust. As a long time member of the Bar Association of the District of Columbia, he served as the organization's President from 1982 until 1984. He was also active in the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick, The Barristers, The John Carroll Society and The Counselors of Washington D.C. James is survived by his wife of 53 years, Jane Suzanne Lynn (nee Kelly); devoted father of James, Mary, Kathleen, Patrick, Elizabeth and the late William Lynn; loving grandfather to 17 grandchildren. Brother of Dr. Stephen E. Lynn, MaryAnn Gray and the late Jean Knightly. Relatives and friends are invited to James' Life Celebration on Thursday, October 27 from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the GEORGE P. KALAS FUNERAL HOME, 6160 Oxon Hill Rd., Oxon Hill, MD. Mass of Christian burial will be offered on Friday at 10:30am at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 310 S. Royal St., Alexandria, VA. Inurnment will be at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Father McKenna Center, 19 Eye St., Washington, D.C. 20001 or The Lombardi Cancer Center, 3970 Reservoir Rd., #E501, Washington D.C. 20007.
