ames “Jimmy” Henry Mason, Jr., 56, a 4-year resident of Edgewater, MD and previously of Parkville, MD died on October 14, 2010 at his home of cancer after a 2 year illness.
Born September 9, 1954 in Washington, D.C., he graduated from George Mason University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Law Enforcement. James was a special agent and fire arms instructor with the Department of the Interior, an analyst with the Coast Guard and, after retirement, he enjoyed being the handyman at the Arundel Lodge. Jimmy loved all music, played a mean banjo, and could fix anything that broke. He enjoyed 7-11 hot dogs and burger bites, cruising the back roads on Sunday afternoons and telling jokes.
James is survived by his wife, Teresa, whom he married in 2004; three children, Alec, Diane and Selina, all of Edgewater, MD; his parents, Colene and Pete Frederick of Fairfax, VA; his step-sister, Liz Fujiwara and step-brother, Scott Frederick. He is also survived by many other family members.
Friends are invited to Jimmy’s Life Celebration at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD on Friday, October 29 from 10am to 12pm, with a memorial service beginning at 11am. Tie dye, Hawaiian shirts, or other colorful attire is welcome. Interment private. Sign language interpreters will be provided.
