James "Tony" Messinese - Obituary

J

ames Anthony "Tony" Messinese, 46, of Edgewater, MD left this world suddenly on April 25, 2022. Tony was born on July 13, 1975, at Prince Georges General Hospital Cheverly, MD to James Messinese and Terrie Taylor. He was a 1995 graduate of South River High School in Edgewater, MD and worked as a journeyman sprinkler fitter in the fire and life safety industry, after completing a four-year apprenticeship in 2015. Tony's interests included eating, sleeping, and most importantly having fun! He loved to spend time with his children, as they were the light of his life. Tony was a lifelong football fanatic, starting with his days as a Mayo Mustang in Pop Warner, continuing through his high school years as a South River Seahawk, and finally playing flag football with The Force. He leaves a huge hole in the heart of his family and friends who are always entertained by his stories and hilarious sense of humor. He truly brought life to the party. This lifelong Redskin fan was known as the class clown and could always put a smile on your face (usually right after he made you mad enough to jump on him!) Tony loved social gatherings, especially cookouts! Tony was a caring husband to the love of his life, a loving father to his children, a pain in the ass to his parents (not all the time), a supportive brother to his siblings, and a genuine lifelong friend to many. Tony is survived by his wife, Jamye Messinese; children, Devin, Chelsey, Anthony, and Bailey; father, James "Pop" Messinese (Denise); mother, Terry Warden (John); siblings, Robert Taylor (Sandra), Glenn Warden (Tiffany), Darrell Otto (Cheryl), and Amanda Otto; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Tony's life on Friday, April 29 from 2 to 4 PM at a Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD. Please leave a condolence for the family by signing the guest book at the Memories tab located on this page.
