James P. Mitchell - Obituary

ames P. Mitchell, Jr. “Mitch”, an over 30 year resident of Edgewater died on September 9, 2008 at Baltimore Washington Medical Center of natural causes. He was 82. Born April 10, 1926 in Washington, D.C., he was employed as a diesel engine mechanic & supervisor with Trailways Bus Company for most of his life. After retiring he worked for several years at Whitmore Printing Company in Annapolis, MD as a driver. He served in the US Navy during WWII in the armed guard unit. He was a member of American Legion Post 226 in Mayo, MD. His hobbies included reading, John Wayne movies, hunting and fishing. Beloved husband of the late Minnie Sophronia Mitchell, who died in 1999 and whom he married on April 24, 1945; father of Marilyn G. Kissling of Pittsburgh, PA, James P. Mitchell, III of Harpers Ferry, WV, Donna Samples of Pasadena, MD, Patrick B. Mitchell of Princess Anne, MD and Philip W. Mitchell of Chestertown, MD; also survived by 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 12, 2008 at 1:45pm at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Crownsville, MD.
