James Edward Norris - Obituary

ames Edward Norris, 84, of Pasadena, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2026. Born on July 31, 1941, and raised in Rockville, Maryland. He was the son of the late Abell Archibald Norris Jr. and Mary Hershey Norris. He is survived by his brother, Abell A. Norris III, and sister, Janet N. Woodruff. A devoted father, James leaves behind Kimberly Norris Kerr (Bruce), Brian Edward Norris (Kate), Sandra Norris Miller (Matthew), and Robert Brooke Norris (Emily). He was a proud and loving grandfather to John Norris Kerr, Sarah McKenzie Kerr, Alben James Miller, Grayson Edward Norris, Shafer Amelia Miller, Lucia Havlin Norris, Rowan Gene Norris, and Henry James Robert Norris. James proudly served in the U.S. Army after graduating from Richard Montgomery High School, and retired after a distinguished career with the Department of Defense. He found joy in gardening, camping, relaxing by the beach, following his favorite teams (Go Redskins and Nats!), and, above all, spending time with his family.
