ames Walter “Jim” Phillips, 68, a longtime resident of Edgewater, MD, died at his home on October 28, 2014. Born on September 7, 1946 in Pennsylvania, Jim served in the U.S. Army and then worked as regional sales manager for Nilfisk of America. He loved vintage cars from the 1950s and 1960s and owned a 1967 and a 1968 Pontiac LeMans. A member of St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church, the American Legion and Wheels of the Past Car Club, Jim enjoyed sailing, baseball, going to car shows and was a Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Jim is survived by his wife of 28 years, Sue W. Phillips; his daughter, Kristen Wray of Edgewater; his mother, Georgie Phillips, and his brother, Dennis Phillips, both of Virginia Beach, VA; his granddaughter, Londyn McMillian; and three nephews Chad, Nathan and Adam. Friends are invited to Jim’s memorial service at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 3 at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater. Burial will be private.
