James Sassa - Obituary

im Sassa passed away peacefully on September 18, 2015 at his home in Potomac, MD. Jim enjoyed his career as an accountant. He especially loved working with Catholic churches for the past 35 years. He graduated from Villanova University with a BS in Economics in 1955. Jim was a devoted Catholic and had great faith. Jim loved the Redskins, The History Channel, the beach, and taking his family out to dinner. He was a devoted husband of Beverly Ann Sassa for 58 years and loving father to Nancy Sassa (Bob), Joanie Sassa (Dave), and Paul Sassa (Allison). Jim was also the very proud grandfather of Sean and Matthew Finney, Katie and Caroline Grover, Brooke and Daniel Sassa. He is survived by two brothers, Thomas Sassa and Joseph Sassa. He will be greatly missed. Relatives and friends are invited to James' Celebration of Life at St. Raphael Catholic Church, 1513 Dunster Rd., Rockville, MD 20854 on Monday, September 21, 2015 from 10 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. Interment immediately following at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Silver Spring, MD In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to: Suburban Hospital Foundation, ref: Oncology Dept.
