James Francis Treichel - Obituary

O

n Thursday, April 6, 2017, the beloved husband of Leslie Bing Ling Chen Treichel, loving father of Erin Bright White and Karl Fong Treichel, loving brother of Sister Chris Treichel, OSF (Pat), Rosemary Treichel, Jane (Donald) Perham, Clare Treichel, John Treichel, Mary (Tim) Flynn, and Martha (Chris) O'Connor. Jim also leaves behind numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. He is predeceased by his parents, Albert and Patricia Treichel. Jim graduated from Bishop McNamara High School (’74). After 20 years of service (1974-1994) in the United States Marine Corps Jim retired at the rank of Staff Sergeant. He proudly served his country as a military police officer in Japan, California, North Carolina and Hawaii. Jim’s last duty station was at Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii. After his retirement from the military, Jim took the position of Manager of Security at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Waikiki, Hawaii where he met his wife Bing who was working as a Service Bar attendant in the Housekeeping Department at the hotel. Jim and his family moved back to Maryland where he held the position of Project Manager in the Department of Transportation of Montgomery County Government. Friends may call at the GEORGE P. KALAS FUNERAL HOME, 6160 Oxon Hill Rd., Oxon Hill, MD on Sunday, April 23, 2017, from 3 to 6 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, April 24, 2017, at 11:00 am at Holy Family Catholic Church, 2210 Calloway Street, Hillcrest Heights, MD. Interment May 9, 2017 at 9:00 am, at Arlington National Cemetery , Arlington Virginia. If you are planing on attending family and friends need to be at ANC administration Building by 8:15 am.
