James A. Trimmer, Sr. - Obituary

ames Ashley Trimmer, Sr., 68, a 47-year resident of Edgewater, MD, died on August 30, 2023, at his home following an 8-month battle with colon cancer. Known to family and friends as Jim, he was born on January 22, 1955, in Washington, D.C. to the late Thomas S. and Charlotte J. Trimmer. He graduated from Annapolis High School and worked for W.M.A.T.A.-DC Metro bus. Jim enjoyed crabbing, watching sports, and time with his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Marsha Taylor Trimmer; three children, James Trimmer, Jr. of Annapolis, MD, Jennifer Mullin of Bogata, TX, and Jason Trimmer of Edgewater, MD; and six grandchildren, Austin, Shelby, and Cheyenne Williams, Bryce, and Anya Trimmer, and Mason Kramer. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by two siblings, Thomas T. Trimmer and Suzanne Darmstead. Friends are invited to celebrate Jim's life at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD on Sunday, September 3 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10306.
