ames J. "Jim" Wigginton September 30, 1937 - July 13, 2022 James J. "Jim" Wigginton died peacefully on July 13, 2022 with family at his bedside. He was born in Washington, DC on September 30, 1937 and lived all of his life in Maryland. He was an elevator mechanic in the National Elevator Industry, union local 10, from 1956 until 1990 when an injury forced him to retire on disability. From 1962-64, he served his country in the US Army, spending one year in Thailand before being honorably discharged. After retirement he spent his days with his wife, Barbara, with whom he celebrated 50 years of marriage in 2017. They did some traveling but mostly just enjoyed their home, pool and family together. Jim enjoyed hunting, boating and fishing, and he was an avid fan of the Washington Redskins. Jim was predeceased by his wife, Barbara, and two daughters, Theresa Carolyn and Lora Lee. He is survived by two sons, James L. Wigginton and John P. Wigginton; his son and daughter in law, Bryan and Marci Crymes; 17 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and his sister in law, Patricia Allison. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Jim's life on Saturday, July 23 from 11 AM until his memorial service at 12:30 PM at Kalas Funeral Home and Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Jim's name may be made to Heart Homes, 3023 Arundel on the Bay Road, Annapolis, MD 21403 or Hospice of the Chesapeake, 90 Ritchie Highway, Pasadena, MD 21122.
