James Sanford Young - Obituary

ames Sanford Young Of Indian Head, MD March 2, 1931 - February 11, 2014. Dr. Young was born and raised in Washington, DC, attended Washington & Lee University and served as a Hospital Corpsman in the Navy. He graduated from Duke University Medical School where he met his wife of 56 years, Sara, who died in September 2013. He practiced Internal Medicine in Prince Georges County for more than 30 years. He will be greatly missed by his son James S. (Susan) Young, Jr., daughters Suzanne (Doug) Meeker, Robin (Warren) Deal , and Stacey (Ivano) Paternoster, as well as grandchildren James III, Lisa, Jennifer, David, Ryan, Amy, Nicolo and Sara. He is also survived by his sister, Barbara Young Schaeffer and many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held at the GEORGE P. KALAS FUNERAL HOME, 6160 Oxon Hill Road, Oxon Hill, MD., on Saturday, February 22 from 2pm until time of service at 3pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Charles County.
