ane Crickenberger Rodgers died January 10, 2022 at Anne Arundel Medical Center. Jane and her husband, Dean, lived in Gingerville in Edgewater, MD for over 55 years. She recently moved to Brightview South River after breaking her hip. Jane and her identical twin sister, Jean, were born on October 21, 1931 in Charles City County, VA to the late Marguerite and Lawrence Crickenberger. They had a sister, Anna Lee, 13 years older, and a brother, Lawrence Jr., 8 years older. After working as the farm manager at Westover Plantation, their father moved the family moved to New Market, MD to their own cattle farm. Jane and Jean graduated from Frederick High School and both went to one year of business school in Hagerstown, MD. Jane was employed as a secretary at Fort Detrick in Frederick, MD where she also met her future husband, Dean. Jane spent most of her career as a housewife raising her three children, Julie, Becky and Gregg. She was a member of the Gingerville Garden Club, pool and a neighborhood dinner group. She and Dean were active members at their church, Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Annapolis, attending Sunday School, Bible studies and mentoring engaged couples. Jane was also a women's small group leader in Bible Study Fellowship for over 15 years. In her spare time, Jane enjoyed gardening, vacations at the beach with family, and bridge. Jane is predeceased by her husband, Dean; one grandson, Christopher Mules; her sister, Anna Lee McAdoo and brother, Lawrence Crickenberger, Jr. She is survived by her three children and their spouses, Julie Boyle (John), Rebecca Raub (Henri) and Gregg Rodgers (Krista); four grandsons, Steven Boyle, Jamison Boyle, Matthew Mules (Kaitlin) and Jacob Rodgers; and three great-grandchildren, Everett, Juliana and Brooks Mules. She is also survived by her twin sister, Jean Plag, of Kirkwood, MO. A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, February 12 from 1 to 2 PM, immediately followed by a service at 2 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to St Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Condolences may be made by using the Memories tab on this page.
