Jane Schimoler - Obituary

ane E. Schimoler, a 14-year resident of Edgewater and previously of Locust Valley, NY, died peacefully on April 5, 2015 at her residence after a 5-year battle with cancer. Born on April 2, 1964 in Glen Cove, NY, Jane graduated from Farmingdale University with a degree in criminal justice. She later pursued a career in residential real estate with Sandra Lofgren-Sargent and Associates. She was an avid lacrosse fan with an interest in health and physical fitness. Jane joins her beloved husband, John A. Schimoler, whom she married in 1988 and who died in 2012. She is survived by her daughter, Heidi E. Schimoler and her son, J. Gunnar Schimoler, both of Edgewater; her mother, Miriam Yavoski; 8 sisters and 3 brothers; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to Jane’s Life Celebration from 6 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, April 7 at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater where her funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 8. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the educational fund established for Jane’s children.
