Janet L. Dunivin - Obituary

anet L Dunivin, 84, a 15-year resident of Annapolis, MD and previously of Woodbridge, VA, died of end-stage cardiomyopathy on Tuesday, March 14, 2023. Born August 31, 1938, in Canton, IL to William R. and Alma L Calhoun (nee Bowman), she studied interior design at the University of Kentucky. Janet retired from the Prince William County Public School system as a library secretary/media specialist. She was a member of the Heritage Harbour Chorus and a past member of the Heritage Harbour Bus Committee, where she would often help organize bus trips for the community. Janet enjoyed creating stained glass art and making jewelry. She was also an avid bingo player and enjoyed computer games, puzzle books, and traveling. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, A. John Dunivin. Janet is survived by a daughter, Laura L. Kissel, and her husband, Mark of Annapolis, MD, and two grandsons, Greg J. and David G. Kissel. Friends are invited to celebrate Janet’s life on Wednesday, March 29 from 11 am until her memorial service begins at 12 pm at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD.
