anet Williams, 81, of Lake Mary, Florida departed this life on Thursday, February 7, 2019 surrounded by the love of her family. Janet Elaine Casper Williams was born to Clara Adkins Casper and Everett John Casper on April 27, 1937 in Moore Haven, Florida. She has an older half sister Gerri Hartman, an older sister Pat Taylor, a younger sister Beth Schwalbert and a younger brother Jay Casper. She married the late Donald Rudy Williams of Murray, Kentucky on October 6th, 1956 in Petersburg, Virginia. They met while attending Murray State University and she accompanied her new husband to Munich, Germany where he served as an officer in the U.S. Army. They immediately started a family giving birth to their oldest son, Lee Williams while abroad. After returning stateside, Don and Janet lived all over the South having son, Grant Williams in Nashville and daughter, Shannon (Williams) Henke in Atlanta until Don’s career with the federal government brought them permanently to the Washington, DC area settling in Oxon Hill/Fort Washington, Maryland. Janet graduated from Fort Lauderdale High School, received her Bachelors degree in Psychology from the University of Maryland and her Master Degree in Social Work from The Catholic University of America. Janet was a counselor and owned The Family Stress Clinic in Fort Washington, MD. She and her sister in law, Ruth Williams also started the Williams Center in Oxon Hill, MD. She deeply loved her many clients who came to her for counseling. Each and every one was very special to her and she saw being a therapist as her life’s calling. Janet leaves to cherish her memory her three children: Lee Williams of Manassas, VA, Grant Williams of Mechanicsville, MD and Shannon (Tom) Henke of Lake Mary, FL. She is also survived by her 7 grandchildren. (Jake Williams , Austin Williams, Amanda Williams, Stephanie Williams, Charlotte Henke, Olivia Henke and Alexander (Alex) Henke.) Janet is also survived by her sister in law Ruth Williams and many wonderful nieces, nephews and faithful friends. The viewings will be held on Friday, February 15th, 2019 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Kalas Funeral Home located at 6160 Oxon Hill Road Oxon Hill, MD 20745. There will be an additional viewing at the church at 10:00 am on Saturday prior to the funeral. The funeral and reception will be held on Saturday, February 16th, at 11:00am at Christ Episcopal Church located at 8710 Old Branch Avenue Clinton, MD 20735. Additionally, there will be a graveside burial at Resurrection Cemetery located at 8000 Woodyard Rd. Clinton, MD 20735.
