Janice Purdy - Obituary

anice Purdy, 72, of Edgewater died of cancer on 26 at Heritage Harbor Health and Rehabilitation Center in Annapolis. Mrs. Purdy was born on June 12, 1937 in Baltimore, MD. She moved to Edgewater in 1952 and attended Annapolis High School. Surviving is her husband of 55 years, William W. Purdy, two daughters Janice A. Small and Billie L. Penley both of Stevensville, one granddaughter Kristina Gulbin of Centreville, and one grandson Christopher Penley of Stevensville. She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Elizabeth Mettam. She was a member of Edgewater United Methodist Church. She loved gardening, flowers, little wild yard animals, flea markets, collecting all kinds of dolls—a large collection and going to Myrtle Beach. Friends are invited to Janice's Life Celebration at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD on Monday, June 29 from 2-4 and 6-8 at Kalas funeral home. where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Interment Cedar Bluff Cemetery, Annapolis, MD. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Edgewater United Methodist Church, 2768 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD 21037
