S

uddenly on July 9, 2021 Janiyah was called home to play amongst the angels. A beautiful spirit who is survived by her loving mother Nicole and father Emanuel, sister Brianna, and brother Emanuel Jordan (EJ). Janiyah Alexis Small was born on April 22, 2010 in Clinton, MD at Southern Maryland Hospital to Emanuel Small and Nicole Davenport. Janiyah attended Pre-K at Antioch Childcare in Upper Marlboro, MD. She had a love for learning at a young age and enjoyed being taught by her teachers Ms. Tenisha & Ms. Lajuan. Janiyah was educated in the public school system of Prince Georges County, attending Chillum Elementary located in Hyattsville, MD. She recently graduated in June and was looking forward to starting middle school in the fall. Janiyah enjoyed doing gymnastics with her instructor Shanni Dickens, and other outdoor recreational activities with her cousins. She also enjoyed eating tacos, pizza, chicken nuggets, and french fries. She also liked singing and making silly videos on her mother’s cellphone with her brother EJ. Janiyah was a videogame enthusiast. Often times she could be found building her empire on Roblox or more recently, testing her mental capabilities through Minecraft. She could be found learning the latest dance moves to show off. Janiyah also loved to tell a good knock-knock joke and would await your reaction to judge how successful the joke was. She I also survived by her maternal grandparents, Jody and Donna Davenport, and paternal grandmother Deborah Allen, as well as a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins who all loved and cherished her. Janiyah will forever be in our hearts and spirits. Relatives and friends are invited to Janiyah's Life Celebration on Friday, July 23, 2021 at the KALAS FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 6160 Oxon Hill Rd., Oxon Hill, MD 20745 from 10 a.m. until the start of the service at 11 a.m. Interment immediately following the funeral at Fort Lincoln Cemetery, Brentwood, MD.
