Jason L. Hughes - Obituary

ason Lewis Hughes, 59, a five-year resident of Stevensville, MD and previously of Chester, MD passed away at home on August 22, 2023 after a two-year battle with bladder cancer. Born on June 5, 1964 in Baltimore, MD to Rayborn and Elsie Hughes, Jason graduated from Glen Burnie High School in 1982 and went on to receive a Bachelor of Science, Computer Science from Chapman University in 1989. Jason served in the United States Air Force for four years, and was employed as the IT Assistant Director for the Comptroller of Maryland Information Technology Division for ten years. Jason loved cooking, outdoor activities such as camping, fishing, and kayaking, and was a fan of the Baltimore Ravens and the Baltimore Orioles. In addition to his parents, Jason is survived by his beloved wife of six years, Tina DiGirolamo Hughes; sons, Jordan and Nathan Hughes; grandson, Camden Hughes, and sister, Jennifer Richardson. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Jason's life on Saturday, September 16, 2023, from 2 p.m. until a memorial service begins at 3 p.m. at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD 21037. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741.
