ason D. Jablonski “JJ, Jabs, Bean, Jabber”, 21, of Orchard Park, NY, died on November 27, 2016 at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, MD due to complications related to leukemia. Born on July 18, 1995 in Amherst, NY, to Joseph F. Jablonski, IV and Lori M. Walek Jablonski, Jason was a graduate of St. Francis High School in Athol Springs, NY. He was currently a Midshipman 1/C at the United States Naval Academy where his assigned service selection was to Naval Aviation (Pilot), his first choice. Jason was a member of the Navy Men’s Ice Hockey Team (2016-17 assistant captain), the Knights of Columbus USNA Commodore Barry Council and Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church in Orchard Park. He enjoyed travelling the world, flying and watching planes and participating in and attending sporting events, especially soccer and hockey. He was an avid fan of the Buffalo Sabres, Buffalo Bills, Tottenham Hotspur, the U.S. Men’s National Soccer team, Navy Hockey, Navy Football and the New York Yankees. In addition to his parents, Jason is survived by his sisters, Janelle L. and Casey J. Jablonski; his devoted girlfriend, Elizabeth Pecsok; his grandparents, Dominica Bondi Walek, Margaret and Joseph F. Jablonski, III and the members of the Navy Men’s Ice Hockey Team and the Brigade of Midshipmen. Friends are invited to celebrate Jason’s life on Tuesday, December 6 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD and on Wednesday, December 7 from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm at the U.S. Naval Academy Chapel where a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow at the U.S. Naval Academy Cemetery. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 7 at 4:00 pm at St. Francis High School in Athol Springs, NY. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Jablonski Family Trust Fund, c/o Memorial Affairs Coordinator, 101 Cooper Rd., USNA, Annapolis, MD 21402 with checks made out to, Lori Jablonski.
