Jean Beavers - Obituary

ean E. “Jeannie” Beavers (nee Myers), 84, of Edgewater, died at the Johns Hopkins Hospital on July 2, 2012. Born September 13, 1927 in Mt. Rainier to the late Perry and Virginia Myers, Jeannie was a 1944 graduate of Mt. Rainier High School. She was a member of Capital Memorial SDA Church in Washington, DC and the Anne Arundel County Senior Center. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing the piano, singing and spending time with her family. She is preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Doug Myers. Jeannie is survived by her husband Dick Beavers, whom she married in 1946; one daughter, Beverly Heiberger and her husband Rick of Deale; three sons, Rick Beavers and his wife Cathi of Chester, Tim Beavers and his wife Cathie of Midlothian, VA and Mike Beavers of Deale; one sister, Milly Leapley of New Carrollton; one brother Ralph Myers of Gettysburg, PA; three granddaughters, Elise, Lindsay and Michelle and three grandsons, Price, Brad and Timmy. Friends are invited to Jeannie’s Life Celebration at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater on Friday, July 6 from 10-11AM where a funeral ceremony will begin at 11AM. Interment Crownsville Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory are recommended to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
