Jean Leek - Obituary

J

ean R. Leek, a resident of Heritage Harbour in Annapolis since 2005, died on Sunday, May 11, 2014. She was a native of Philadelphia and had lived in Laurel for 45 years. A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, she was a past President of the Laurel Branch of the American Association of University Women. During the 1970's, Jean was the leader of Girl Scout Troop 339 in Laurel. Jean retired from the Prince Georges County public school system, where she had been a Librarian at Laurel High School. Previously, she was employed as an administrative assistant in Personnel at the United States Department of Agriculture in Beltsville, MD. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Robert G. Leek; a daughter, Gail S. Klakring and her husband, Jeffrey; and two grandsons, Tyler and Drew of Davidsonville. At Jean's request there will be no viewing or memorial service. Inurnment will be at a later date at the Maryland Veteran's Cemetery in Crownsville.
